JoAnn Seagren

Managing Director & Wealth Advisor

JoAnn Seagren is a Managing Director of JAG Capital Management (JAG). She serves on JAG’s Senior Management Committee ​and ESG Committee. JoAnn worked previously at Geneva Advisors, which was then acquired by CIBC Bank. Prior to that, she was a principal and co-owner of Advocate Asset Management LLC, a wealth manager for high net worth families and institutions, where she served as a wealth advisor, the head of investor relations, business development, and strategy. Previously, JoAnn also worked at BDT Capital Partners, a Chicago-based investment banking firm and, earlier in her career, at Towle & Co, a family office, deep-value investment advisory firm. At the start of her career, she worked for LaSalle Partners (now JLL) in marketing and client relations.

JoAnn graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California with a BS in Business, where she was elected to Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma and was a National Merit Scholar.

JoAnn is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, where she serves on the Forums Committee, and the International Women’s Forum, where she served on the Executive Board of the Chicago chapter. JoAnn is Chair of the Board of Openlands, a regional conservation organization, and was recently recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business as one of their 2022 Notable Nonprofit Board Leaders. JoAnn serves on the board of The Chicago Council on Global Affairs. She also volunteer teaches in the Chicago Public Schools and is a co-founder of Smartfarms.org. She serves on the board of The Fortnightly of Chicago, the city’s oldest women’s society, founded in 1873.

JoAnn loves nature, and she is often found biking, hiking, or running in Chicago’s abundant trail systems, or backpacking in wilderness areas. She is an avid reader and she and her husband collect art, with a focus on Outsider and Chicago Imagist art.
